Cabinet Finisher
Position Summary:
The Cabinet Finisher is responsible for applying finishes to wood products such as cabinets, furniture, and custom millwork. This includes sanding, staining, sealing, painting, and/or applying lacquer or varnish to produce a high-quality, durable finish. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, knowledge of finishing techniques and materials, and experience working with hand tools and finishing equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare wood surfaces for finishing by sanding, filling, and cleaning.

• Mix and apply stains, sealers, lacquers, varnishes, or paint to cabinets using spray guns, brushes, or rollers.

• Match stains and colors to meet customer or design specifications.

• Inspect finished products for quality, uniformity, and flaws.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure proper storage of chemicals and materials.

• Operate finishing equipment such as spray booths, sanders, and drying ovens.

• Follow all safety guidelines including proper use of PPE and ventilation procedures.

• Communicate with production teams to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in woodworking or furniture/cabinet finishing preferred.

• Knowledge of various finishing techniques, products, and equipment.

• Ability to read work orders, blueprints, or finish samples.

• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.

• Ability to lift and move materials and finished products (up to 50 lbs).

• Willingness to work in a dusty, fume-prone, and physically active environment.
