Ammonia Refrigeration Technician – 2nd Shift
■ Location: Dallas, TX
■ Shift: 2nd Shift
About the Role:
We’re seeking an experienced Ammonia Refrigeration Technician to operate, troubleshoot, and repair ammonia-based refrigeration systems, HVAC stand-alone rack units, and boiler/hot water systems. You’ll ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently while following safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, test, troubleshoot, and repair ammonia refrigeration systems and related equipment.
- Maintain and repair rack-mounted and stand-alone gas refrigerant HVAC units.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair boiler and hot water systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration, HVAC, and boiler systems.
- Maintain the integrity of engine and utility rooms in line with best practices.
- Rebuild ammonia, HVAC, boiler, and hot water components per technical manuals.- Complete and maintain all documentation related to system modifications, work orders, and inspections.
- Adhere to company safety, GMP, PSM, and environmental policies.
- Conduct daily rounds and inspections of temperatures and system conditions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Engineer or Supervisor.
Preferred Certifications (Not Required):
- Ammonia Refrigeration Operator I, II, or III- PSM/RMP OSHA 29CFR 1910.119 training
Work Environment:
- Standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) for extended periods.
- Temperatures between 30°F and 50°F in processing areas.
- Exposure to wet, slippery floors, loud noise, and potentially dangerous equipment.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 3–5 years related experience in ammonia refrigeration, HVAC, or similar field.
