Job Description: As a Peer Coach functions as a role model to members, exhibiting competency in personal recovery and use of effective coping skills. The Peer Coach serves as an advocate, providing supportive information and peer support for members in outpatient and inpatient settings.
Position Summary: A Peer Coach performs a wide range of tasks to assist peers of all ages with respect to regaining independence within the community and mastery over their own recovery process. Recovery resources such as booklets, videos, and other materials will be utilized by the Peer Coach in the provision of services.
Qualifications and Requirements
● Meets the requirements of a Behavioral Health Technician
● Peer Support Specialist Certification
● Must be 21 years or older.
● High school diploma or GED required
● 4 years of full-time behavioral health work experience
● CPR/FA certification required
● Crisis de-escalation certification (i.e., Safety Care, CPI, etc.) required
● Valid AZ driver’s license
● Fingerprint Clearance Card
● 2 Step Tuberculosis Screen and Risk Assesment
●Physical Attestation / Physician completed Physical
● Intermediate computer skills – MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams), Internet, Electronic Health Record, etc).
● Excellent communication, organizational, time management, and critical thinking and problem-solving skills required.
