Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Brake Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for setting up and operating brake press machines to bend, form, and fabricate sheet metal components used in locker production. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience working in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up, operate, and maintain press brake machines to bend sheet metal parts according to blueprints and specifications.

• Interpret technical drawings, job orders, and schematics to determine material requirements and machine settings.

• Ensure that parts are produced to exact measurements and quality standards.

• Inspect finished pieces for accuracy using measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, and tape measures.

• Adjust machine controls to regulate pressure, speed, and positioning of components.

• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with company safety standards and OSHA regulations.

• Assist with basic maintenance and troubleshooting of press brake equipment.

• Record production data, including number of parts produced, defects, and machine downtime.

• Collaborate with supervisors, quality control, and other production team members to meet daily targets.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience operating a press brake in a manufacturing setting.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.

• Experience with sheet metal fabrication and working with gauges commonly used in locker manufacturing (typically 16 to 20 gauge steel).

• Proficient in using hand tools and measuring instruments.

• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a production environment.

• Forklift certification is a plus.

• Must be reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in locker or metal cabinet production.

• Knowledge of Amada, Cincinnati, or Accurpress machines is a Plus

• Basic understanding of lean manufacturing and 5S principles.
