BATCH MAKER
 
As Batch Maker in the Dry Mix Production, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently assembling raw
materials and processing products according to the companies high-quality standards using
automatic/manual machines, hand tools and equipment. Batch Makers are required to adhere to all policies,
procedures, and instructions as defined in our Employee Handbook, Health and Safety manual, or any other
instruction issued by the company.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Must be able to read and follow daily production schedule and batch ticket instructions
• Weigh or measure raw materials using automated and manual equipment; prior to putting them into
mixers as per batch tickets instructions.
• Control machines to mix or blend ingredients and allow them to mix for specified times as per batch
tickets instructions.
• Collect samples of materials, take them to the lab and perform QC tests according to spec sheets.
• Clean and maintain mixers, equipment, and work area.
• Adhere to work schedule and be able to report to work on time and work throughout the assigned
schedule and shift.
• Operate machinery used in the production process, such as mixers, forklift trucks, and pallet jacks.
• Wear specified personal protective equipment as required by the companys Chemical Safety Policies including
steel/composite toe work boots, safety glasses, protective gloves or respirators as required.
• Observe equipment operations and notify the supervisor of any malfunctions.
• Maintain accurate written records as required by specified tasks that are performed daily.
• Communicate immediately to Operators, Supervisors, or any member of management all circumstances
that may affect quality or are considered questionable and unsafe
• Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work environment by properly identifying and storing packaging
materials, supplies and equipment.
• Assist operators and any other employees as directed by supervisors in performing all activities
associated with the manufacture of finished goods and any other task assigned by supervisors.
• Load/unload tractor trailers.
 
Key Competencies:
• Ability to read and comprehend English
• Stand, walk, handle, reach outward and above shoulder, climb, and bend frequently.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to work basic math problems
• Reliable
• Ability to communicate among peers and work on a team
 
Education and Experience:
  •  Manufacturing: 3 years (Preferred)
  •  Mixing/Batch Making: 2 years (Required)
  • High Speed Mixer or Horizontal Slow Mixer experience (Required)
Work Schedule:
  • Monday - Friday, 7AM - 4PM
  • Occasional OT
