Direct Support Professional – Developmental Disabilities

This role supports individuals with developmental disabilities (e.g., autism, cerebral palsy, intellectual disability, epilepsy) in a group home setting. You’ll coach, mentor, and assist members with daily living and skill-building activities tailored to their unique needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support members with daily tasks (bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, etc.)

• Implement personalized care and behavior support plans

• Plan and lead skill-building and recreational activities

• Administer medications and assist with basic health care

• Prepare and serve meals following dietary needs

• Perform light housekeeping and maintain clean, safe environments

• Participate in team meetings and data tracking

• Use basic therapy, lifting, and behavioral support techniques

• Communicate effectively, including using sign language if needed

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of direct care experience

• Ability to lift/push/pull 50 lbs

• Flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays)

• Basic computer skills (timesheets, training, documentation)

• Read/write English and follow written/verbal instructions
