Description
The Mental Health Associate (MHA) will provide crisis intervention, suicide risk assessments, and psychoeducation to individuals facing behavioral health challenges. This role supports community re-entry plans to reduce recidivism, under the supervision of a licensed mental health professional.
Key Responsibilities:
- Crisis Intervention & Suicide Risk Assessment: Provide immediate intervention and perform risk assessments.
- Psychoeducation: Lead sessions to educate clients on managing behavioral health and preventing recidivism.
- Community Re-entry Planning: Develop and coordinate re-entry plans, addressing risk factors and ensuring continued support.
- Clinical Documentation: Complete assessments and treatment plans in a timely manner.
- Collaboration & Care Coordination: Act as a liaison between clients, families, and community services.
- Court-Ordered Evaluations: Complete evaluations and communicate with providers as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health, social services, or related field.
- Experience: 1+ year in a mental health or related role, preferably with individuals in crisis or the criminal justice system.
- Skills: Strong communication, crisis intervention, and documentation skills. Knowledge of community resources.
- Certifications/Training: CPR/First Aid (preferred), Crisis Intervention training (preferred).
Work Schedule:
- Overnight shifts; flexibility may be required based on client needs.
