Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Flexo Prepress Technician to join our team in Tyler, TX. This position is responsible for preparing high-quality flexographic printing plates and ensuring all prepress tasks are completed with accuracy and efficiency. The ideal candidate has a strong background in flexographic platemaking, prepress software, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare digital files for platemaking using prepress software and RIP systems

• Operate both analog and digital platemaking equipment to produce flexographic plates

• Inspect and verify image quality, plate integrity, and compliance with production standards

• Perform color adjustments, trapping, imposition, and file corrections as needed

• Mount plates to cylinders when required

• Collaborate closely with the Prepress Manager, pressroom teams, and customer service to ensure job accuracy

• Maintain equipment cleanliness and perform minor maintenance; report technical issues promptly

• Adhere to production schedules and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Follow all safety protocols and company policies

Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in prepress or platemaking, preferably in the printing or packaging industry

• Hands-on experience with flexographic platemaking processes

• Proficiency with prepress software such as Esko, ArtPro, Adobe Creative Suite, and RIP workflows

• Solid understanding of color theory, registration, imposition, and preparing print-ready files

• Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control

• Ability to troubleshoot file or platemaking equipment issues

• Effective communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude

• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines

• Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
